Title: Before the Incident: Cyber Preparedness Strategies in Organizations
Speaker: Gustavo Batistuzzo
Date: June 07, 2025
The lecture “Before the Incident: Cyber Preparedness Strategies in Organizations”, given by Gustavo Batistuzzo, is part of the International Cybersecurity Workshop: Digital Frontiers and addresses a central theme for the resilience of institutions in the face of increasing cyberattacks.
Cyber incident preparedness goes far beyond adopting technological tools: it involves organizational culture, governance, clear policies, evidence preparation, planning, and regulatory compliance. Being ready before the attack is what differentiates organizations that can react quickly from those that suffer prolonged and severe impacts.
In his presentation, Gustavo Batistuzzo addressed aspects such as: (i) The importance of a cybersecurity culture and leadership in the preparation process; the implementation of internal policies, incident response plans (PRIs), and practical tests (tabletop exercises); (ii) The need for proper generation and retention of logs for analysis and accountability; and (iii) The legal requirements of the LGPD and GDPR in case of leaks and breaches.
